All 13 episodes from the second season of the American horror anthology that follows the past and present events at a Massachusetts asylum for the criminally insane. It's 1964 and the Briarcliff Mental Institution, run by the Catholic church, is overseen by its founder, Monsignor Timothy Howard (Joseph Fiennes), Sister Jude (Jessica Lange) and Sister Mary Eunice (Lily Rabe). As the tyrannical Sister Jude continues to cross swords with sadistic medical officer Dr. Arthur Arden (James Cromwell), journalist Lana Winters (Sarah Paulson) arrives at Briarcliff to investigate claims of mistreatment of the patients. It's not long, however, before she finds herself confronting untold horrors, as the evil that permeates the building, along with the deranged serial killer known as Bloody Face, begin to make their presence felt.
